# What is the different between Monocrystalline solar panel and Polycrystalline Solar Panel ?

These photovoltaic modules are aesthetically very similar, since they are made up of several square cells which are nearly placed one next to the other and are joined together by flat conjunction metal filaments.

The difference between polycrystalline and monocrystalline modules lies in the different technique used for the production of cells.
Until quite recently, the performance of polycrystalline modules was slightly lower than monocrystalline ones and their price was also lower.
Nowadays, thanks to the use of new techniques for the production of cells, the gap between such modules is so reduced that there are nearly no differences between such 2 products in terms of energy production.

Polycrystalline and monocrystalline modules are excellent products whose performance is kept unaltered over time, with few power losses over the 25-year warranty term.

Such modules are ideal also for small plants given their reduced size, when compared with the same power produced by amorphous silicon panels. They must be installed and face southwards for their better performance.

Each module is tested according to the criteria laid down by accredited European Bodies, and falls within the +- 3% tolerance range of the peak maximum power.
The quality report for each panel is attached to each shipment.
No panel is shipped if it does not fall within such tolerance range.
