Beijing Automotive Industrial Co., (BAIC) will organize a team to Japan end of this month seeking for potential cooperation with Japan new energy vehicle suppliers. Before this, BAIC’s BoD Chairman Xu Heyi has visited Japan for this several times.
Information from BAIC said that the visit is for suppliers to electric cars. Although China is starting with developed nations in new energy vehicle building, in terms of electrics China is still has quite a lot to learn from Japan.
Liao Yuefeng, chief engineer of Beijing New Energy Vehicle Co., said to reporter that if China can not follow up in part building for EVs, the nation will have great trouble to build EVs in the future. At the moment, BAIC is building its industrial zone for EVs parts.
In 2011, as planned BAIC will provide 3,500 units electric sedans to Beijing government as governmental cars.
