As a long version of BMW 5 series the size is where people pay more attention. The new 5 series has a 5039mm/1860mm/1471mm dimension. Compared with the last generation, the new BMW5 extend its wheelbase by 80mm.
During the Beijing auto show Beijing-Benz Daimler Auto (BBDA) launched Daimler’s new E-class. Archrival of BMW5 also chose to prolong the wheelbase and body size in order to offer more space for passenger compartment. This is the first time Daimler prolong its E-class wheelbase specially for an overseas market. Even BMW is positioned as a more dynamic and sporty brand, BMW’s engineers also have to prolong the car in order to meet Chinese riches favor.
For the CKD Li 5 series there are three models at the market launch: 535Li、528Li and 523L.
