After making the V10 I realized that off the shelf, cheap dc Motor requires alot of RPM, I do not want to gear something made of so light material that it does not have the mass to sustain the rotation, so I decided to design and build one that has more RPM yet has the same Blade area and that is when I decided to build the V8.
V8 is made from the follwing:
-8 x 3"x10' PVC pipe cut to shape as in rendering($9.89 each)(79.12 total)(vanes)
-2 x 2"X1" permanent caps (sewer pipes aisle)($1.99 each)(brackets)
-1 6" bike axle from an old bike (free or few $)(top axle)
-1 5" long male/female adaptor ($7.99)(bottom connection)
-1 9" hard plastic tricycle wheel (free)(center bracket assembly)
-24 .75"x1/8" screws ($1.99)(screws)
-1 Ametek dc motor ($60.00)(generator)
-frame made from 2x4 ($11.00)(frame)
Total of::: $164.08
Goal is to generate 100 watts at 35km/h
