Japanese PM Looks at 8-Wheel Electric Car
by Michael Graham Richard, Ottawa, Canada on 12.27.05

Japan's Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi had a look at Eliica, an electric car developed by researchers at Keio University. The 8-wheel vehicle has a top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph), although its inventor Hiroshi Shimizu claims it could clear 400kph (250mph) in the right conditions, and it can do 0 to 100km/h (0 to 60 mph) in 4 seconds. It is 100% electric, powered by lithium-ion batteries. Maybe it can even go back to the future... Not sure they have tried that one yet.
