Accumulator batteries

Accumulator batteries are an extremely important component of the wind power station complex. Reliability and convenience of independent energy source operation depends on the quality and capacity of the accumulator.

Not every accumulator battery can be used in the wind power station complex/solar photovoltaic module – accumulator – inverter. Accumulator of every complex shall possess special technical characteristics and enhanced reliability, with the possibility of continuous and deep CHARGE-DISCHARGE cycles.

It should be remembered that accumulator batteries are very much dependant on the temperature and the characteristics will vary from those declared by the manufacturer under decrease of temperature of operation.

The capacity of accumulator battery plays an important role. If the capacity of accumulator is chosen with a surplus, this will mean that life duration of such accumulator battery will be twice or thrice as long as in case when at each cycle the accumulator battery is charged and discharged at most. In addition energy reserve in accumulators should be always present in case the wind, the sun or the local electrical supply network is absent for a longer period of time than usually.

Accumulator battery of the complex consists of 20 accumulators connected consequently and an automatic fuse.
Structurally – this is the cabinet for placement of 20 accumulators with the capacity of 26 up to 100 amperes per hour.
The overall dimensions are: 1400 mm х 1000 mm х 360 mm, maximum weight with 20 accumulators 12V100Ah – 700 kg.

The wide range of accumulator batteries from 8 A/h up to 3000 A/h provides the opportunity to settle almost every issue regarding electric energy storage.

Thus according to the concept of construction of alternative complexes by WindElectric the customers get the opportunity to store from 1,6 kW up to 1 440 kW of energy (more than 1 megawatt!).

Electric power supply up to 60 kW can be ensured adequately for at least twenty-four hours when using the 3000 A/h capacity of the battery; 6 kW capacity of such accumulator battery can operate during 10 days without any additional external recharge.
