Q: What Is a Zero-Emission Vehicle?
A: A zero-emission vehicle has:
No tailpipe emissions
No evaporative emissions
No emissions from gasoline refining or sales
No onboard emission-control systems that can deteriorate over time
Q: What other zero-emission vehicle options are available today?
A: The only cars on the market today that are true zero-emission vehicles are battery-powered electric vehicles. Fuel cell vehicles powered by hydrogen fuel are currently in the development stages and will also qualify as true zero-emission vehicles.
Q: Where are the vehicles manufactured?
A: Vehicle assembly will take place in Ontario, California.
Q: What is the driving range of these vehicles?
A: The range is approximately 130 miles. We are currently working on an expansion pack extending the range to 250 miles, available in 2009.
Q: How do you charge the vehicle?
A: Each Phoenix comes with an integrated on-board 6.6kW charger that plugs into 220V power for a 5 to 6 hour charge. You also have a connector to utilize an off-board 10 minute rapid charge. This requires industrial power and expensive equipment to move the power quick enough to accomplish a 10 minute rapid charge.
Q: Does the vehicle have air-conditioning?
A: Yes, it also has heating and power windows and locks.
Q: How much power does the motor have?
A: Electric vehicles have a unique ability to utilize full torque from zero, unlike traditional internal combustion engines. Our impressive motor offers 590 foot pounds of torque.
Q: What is the capacity of the batteries allowing a range of 100+ miles?
A: It is a 35kWh lithium titanate solution battery pack.
Q: What is the nominal voltage of the modules and the 35kW battery pack?
A: 13.6V and 380V respectively
Q: Does a 10-minute charge cause a neighborhood black out?
A: The grid is quite capable of taking this load. The required power (480V 3-Phase, 500 amps) to rapid charge a Phoenix is regularly used in commercial applications. The key to enable rapid charge is both available at power and refill stations.
Q: Are both standard and rapid chargers included?
A: An onboard charger is included which will allow for 5- to 6-hour charging from a 220V outlet. Off board charger connector is included, but not the off board charger.
Q.: What is the warranty on the vehicle?
A: The Phoenix SUT and SUV have a 3 year /36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty.
Q: Are there color options?
