China subsidizes 61 more environmentally friendly car models

Around 61 cars from 13 car manufacturers were listed on Tuesday for its fuel-efficient by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Since then Chinese government will offer 3,000 yuan to those models via subsidies to customers.
This is the second series of energy-efficient vehicles that are supported financially by Chinese government. The grant is part of Chinese efforts to produce environmentally friendly cars and reduce emissions. The rule provides that vehicles can get a cylinder capacity exceeding 1.6 liters each then a subsidy of 3,000 yuan (441 U.S. dollars) if it is possible the manufacturers to lower their fuel consumption of a model by 20 percent.
The subsidized vehicles include five models of Shanghai GM and the new Ford Fiesta. On the list are local producers such as Chery and Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki.
